In the past few days, the Armenian side attempted to stop operation and access web-sites of Azerbaijan’s state bodies, information agencies, entertainment services. In their mass media Armenians confess openly to conducting these illegal activities and take proud of them. They even spread false information about assessing the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan’s website.

Mobile number portability service to be applied in October
Mobile number portability (MNP) will be introduced in Azerbaijan in October, Azerfon CEO Jurgen Peetz told. He said that this is a period determined by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology during which all three mobile operators - Azercell, Bakcell and Azerfon are instructed to prepare the necessary infrastructure for the simultaneous introduction of the service.

Number of sites on the Internet amounted to 628 million
Analyst firm Netcraft has published a report on the number of web sites operating in the Internet. According to the company, 628, 170, 204 sites operated on the network as of August 1 of current year, which is 38 million less than a month earlier.

Chrome 21 released
Google has released a stable version of browser Chrome 21. The new browser lets the user access any web applications that support a webcam and microphone without the need of plug-ins like Flash or Silverlight. It is noted that the application will get access to the devices as soon as the user gives consent.

On July 30, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited Heydar Aliyev Center to inspect repair work there.

Azerbaijan wins first medal at London Olympic Games
During the second day of the Olympic Games in London Azerbaijani team won the first medal.
Azerbaijani weightlifter Valentin Hristov performed in the weight category up to 56 kg. With total 286 kg, he won the bronze medal. This is the first medal of Azerbaijan at the Olympics in London. As for the other two medalists in weight up to 56 kg, North Korean Om Yun Chol (293 kg), performing in the group “B” won the gold and Chinese Wu Jingbiao (289 kg) won the silver medal.
