An official reception arranged on the occasion of anniversary of the Republic Day – May 28 took place today at the capital’s Buta Palace.

E-Government portal presented

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies (MCIT) held presentation of the first phase of the portal “Electronic government” on April 25.

The event was attended by members of the Coordinating Council of the state program “Electronic Azerbaijan” and Program of Activities for the formation of “Electronic government”, representatives from other government agencies and the media.

President of Azerbaijan chairs Cabinet’s meeting on outcomes of socio-economic development in first quarter 2012 and forthcoming duties

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev today presided over a Cabinet's meeting to discuss results of the socio-economic development in the first quarter 2012.
In his opening remarks, the President said the year started successfully. GDP rose 0.3%, and in non-oil sector this indicator averaged 7,7 percent. Though the industrial production decreased by 0.3 percent, the share of non-oil sector in industry has increased by 16,5 percent, which is record in independence years.

AZN 10 mln to be allocated to Sumgayit and Ganja cities

President of Azerbaijan  Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on additional measures for continuation of reconstruction work in Sumgayit.

Under the order, AZN 5 million  will be allocated from Azerbaijani President’s Reserve Fund envisaged by state budget of Azerbaijan for 2012 to the Executive Power of Sumgayit city for reconstruction, renovation and landscaping work.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies has held a meeting with ten members of the US Senate. During the meeting the Deputy Minister of the Communications and IT Iltimas Mammadov provided the guests with detailed information on the reforms implemented in Azerbaijan in the sphere of ICT and results achieved through the reforms in this sphere. While speaking about close cooperation between USA and Azerbaijan in all spheres, I.Mammadov noted that Azerbaijan and America are strategic partners.
