Internet Governance Forum (IGF), held in Baku, is very important, because the Internet is significant for many countries, told journalists in Baku, Google vice president , Vinton Cerf, often called the "father of the Internet."

According to Google vice-president , holding the forum in Azerbaijan assumes great importance, because this country is actively developing.
Azerbaijan and U.S. sign memorandum of cooperation in ICT

Azerbaijan-US information-communication technology forum, organized jointly by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan and American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) and the United States Embassy to Azerbaijan, held today in Baku.
Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies between Azerbaijan and the United States was signed at the event.
President Ilham Aliyev receives ITU Secretary-General

On November 6, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Hamadoun Toure.
Hamadoun Toure said that he had eye-witnessed big development in Azerbaijan every time he visited the country since 2003.The ITU Secretary-General recalled President Ilham Aliyev`s participation in a summit of the International Telecommunication Union in Geneva and his words that “I will convert the black gold into the human capital”.
