 On December 6, workers in the fields of communication and information technologies in Azerbaijan celebrate their professional holiday.This day was founded by the order of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on December 2, 2006. Since then, all over the republic communications workers and workers in the field of information technologies celebrate their professional holiday. World Conference on International Telecommunications (WCIT-12) kicked off in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on December 3. The conference is organized with the support of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and was attended by about 2000 representatives from over 160 member countries.
Azerbaijan at the conference is represented by a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Iltimas Mammadov.
Minister Ali Abbasov meets with Iranian ambassador

Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan Ali Abbasov met with newly appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan Mohsun Pak Ain. The Minister spoke about bilateral relations developing on friendly and neighborly plane, saying our country is interested in expanding these relations in the future.
Praising information communications technologies sphere as a good opportunity in cooperation between the two countries, Mohsun Pak Ain highly assessed the level of cooperation between the ministries of communications of both countries.
Exhibition CeBIT Bilisim Eurasia kicks off in Turkey

International Exhibition and Conference for Information Technologies CeBIT Bilisim Eurasia 2012 has started today in Istanbul, Turkey.
The exhibition is one of the largest exhibitions of the world in the field of information technologies, telecommunications, software and ICT services.
The exhibition CeBIT Bilisim Eurasia will bring together some 150,000 visitors from more than 70 countries. Over 95 companies will showcase their latest technological solutions in the field of information and communication technologies.
National Center for Information Security to be opened in Azerbaijan in 2013

The National Center for Information Security will be created in Azerbaijan in 2013.The statement came from Minister of Communication and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan Ali Abbasov.
"Special investments will be allocated for the implementation of the project which will turn Azerbaijan into a regional center of information security", the minister said.He also noted that the project involves US Symantec-the biggest producer on anti-virus and protective software. Swedish telecommunications equipment maker Ericsson has today filed a lawsuit in the United States against South Korean Samsung Electronics for infringing its patents. Ericsson confirms that it filed a lawsuit against Samsung, saying the latter has refused to renew the license agreement connected with standard FRAND patent. A similar agreement was reached between the parties not long ago.
