Samsung quarterly profits hit record

South Korea's Samsung Electronics Co. has today posted a record quarterly profit in its history.
In the fourth quarter of 2012, net income of the company amounted to 7.04 trillion won ($6.6 billion).In October-December of last year, company’s operating income also reached a record 8.84 trillion won, which is 89.7 percent more than similar period of 2011. On January 23, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with CEO of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Jin-Yong Cai in Davos.
During the meeting, they praised cooperation between Azerbaijan and the International Finance Corporation. They hailed participation of the International Finance Corporation in implementing projects in Azerbaijan as an investor. They also spoke of the work being done for diversifying Azerbaijan`s economy. According to IBM, it will be possible due to a more widespread use of analytic tools and cloud computing. In 2013, IBM expects a total revenue of $ 16.70 per share, compared with $16.74 forecast. In the fourth reporting period, earnings excluding amortization and pension payments was $6.1 billion, or $5.39 per share. Azerbaijani President pays working visit to Switzerland

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to declare the year 2013 as the “Year of ICT” in Azerbaijan.
