‘National Internet Award’ competition started in Azerbaijan

The National Internet Award Millinet-2012 started in Azerbaijan on the 20th of September 2012.
The Millinet Organizing Committee informs that this year the number of the contest will include 13 nominations and traditionally only sites with Azerbaijani version are allowed to participate in the competition. On September 19, the delegation headed by the Slovenian Prime Minister, the Minister of Economic Development and Technology, Radovan Žerjav will pay visit to Azerbaijan.

Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Abbasov took part in Asian Regional Summit of the World Economic Forum in Tianjin, China.
New technologies, the introduction of scientific and technological achievements, innovative entrepreneurship, enhanced ICT, issues of global information security, impact of innovative technologies on the economy and the role of government in these areas were discussed in the summit.

In the past few days, the Armenian side attempted to stop operation and access web-sites of Azerbaijan’s state bodies, information agencies, entertainment services. In their mass media Armenians confess openly to conducting these illegal activities and take proud of them. They even spread false information about assessing the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan’s website.

On September 12-14, 2012, meetings of 3rd section of IV International Conference “Problems of Cybernetics and Informatics” will be held in Baku in the Institute of Cybernetics of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Science.

Ministry released statement in connection with cyber attacks
Back in May we reported that India’s fast growing mobile Internet usage was all set to overtake the country’s use of the fixed-line Web and now, four months later, the landmark has been crossed, according to StatCounter data from August.
